Student Council
Student Council End of the Year Banquet will be on Thursday, May 17 at 6:00 at Red River Grill. The cost is $15.
Our final activity for this school year will be the Clean Up day on May 25. Students need to arrive around 8:30 and plan on helping teachers and staff clean out and clean up the high school building. We should be finished by 12:30.
8th Grade Louisiana History
The magazine turned out great!
The final assignment is to create an imaginary family vacation to Washington, D.C. For students going on the 8th grade trip this will be an optional, bonus assignment. For those not going on the trip, it will be required but they will have the whole week in class to complete it. I have uploaded the directions and point values. Requirements and points may change throughout the week depending on problems or timing issues we may run into.
7th Grade American History
The final assignment of the year is with American Folksongs. Each student will be given an American folk song they will research and learn about. They will have computers in class Monday- Wednesday to work on this part of the assignment. The second part of the assignment is for them to write their own song on an event (or person) that they feel should be memorialized in history. They will give their presentations in class on Thursday and Friday. This assignment is worth 75 points. I have attached the rubric and an example of how the assignment should be competed.
