Ultimate Frisbee 2011/12 Season
The 2011/12 season of Viking Ultimate has begun! The Vikings started off with an 11 to 7 victory over the formidable Bolton Bears. The Vikings recently returned from the first state-wide tournament in Baton Rouge. Competing in the A bracket for the first time this year, the Vikings scrapped their way through a 1-3 outing. The team played competitively in losses against Baton Rouge Magnet (7-11) and Jesuit (6-13). The Vikings only victory came in a smashing 12 to 1 against Redemptorist. However, the state champion Catholic High proved too much for the Vikings this time. (Tournament and Career Stat trackers coming soon!) The MVP of the tournament for the Vikings was junior captain Josh Kuplesky who racked up 20 stat points on offense and defense. Strong showings from Daniel Gaspard (14) and Joseph Juneau (12) helped keep the Vikings competitive. Ben Bordelon, Brady Gauthier, and Erik Durand rounded out the top performing rookies with 3 stat points a piece. Great effort guys!
